Clipstone

This walk, made in partnership with the Friends of Vicar Water Country Park, will be based around interviews with people who work there, as well as those who use it. There will be interviews with bailiffs, shepherdesses, cake makers and those who remember the lido and riding (don’t tell anyone) in the slag heap buckets.

Our narrator will be Emma Rayner, reflecting on the area’s dancing heritage, model boats, the many uses of gorse, and how the park provides a bridge between the forest and industry. The headstocks, of course, will loom large.

We’ll be adding information here about events in this area, as well as how the work is shaping up and ways in which you can help soon.  So please do keep checking in.
